Channel Ten will no longer air The Simpsons and Modern Family

Fans might be stumped about this.

They may be longstanding favourite TV shows but after firm negotiations with 21st Century Fox, Network Ten has confirmed that The Simpsons and Modern Family will no longer have a place on their channel.

Viewers of the hit American sitcom Modern Family  will miss out on the show’s new season. And sadly, it’s set to be the first time in a remarkable 25 years that The Simpson’s won’t air on the network.

As these popular shows are taken off air on Channel 10, fans might still have a chance to watch them on rival networks should the bid for the family favourites.

A Channel 9 spokesperson told The Daily Telegraph that they are considering their options.

‘We would not be doing an overall deal with Fox. We might want to buy one of their shows but our focus is very much on local content,’ the spokeswoman said.

Meanwhile, a Ten spokesman confirmed the shows were axed on Monday.

Fox has ended the deal until there is more certainty around Ten’s ownership, particularly after the network went into voluntary administration back in June.

‘There are no Fox shows on Ten at this stage,’ a spokesman said.
