In a new interview, Amanda Keller gave a touching tribute to her The Living Room co-host, Barry Du Bois as he continues to fight cancer for the second time round.
After first battling and beating plasmacytoma, a cancer of the immune system in 2010; eight years later in 2017 the TV star Barry learned it had returned as multi myeloma, a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow.
Speaking with It’s Your Day earlier this week, Amanda said her beloved friend and colleague, Barry was the “strongest person in the world” and millions of people can learn from him.
“He doesn’t give into fear. He tells you there’s something going on but he’s fine… it’s only when I saw the bigger picture that I got frightened for him to be honest,” she admitted.
“He’s the strongest person in the world and there’s no space for fear in his life. He gets up every day and he feels the most blessed man in the world, and that gift he gives to other people.
“What a gift it is for us to see how to live in the midst of what must be terrifying. Millions of us can learn from Barry.”
Barry, who is father to seven-year-old twins Bennett and Arabella with wife Leonie Carol Tobler previously told The Daily Telegraph: ‘I celebrate every day… None of us are in the clear health-wise.’
‘I have been through some barrels over the past 12 months, but I am putting them behind me.’
