5 ways to boost male fertility

It's not just women who need to think about why they're not falling pregnant.

1. Overhaul your lifestyle:
Smoking, alcohol, recreational drugs and sexually transmitted diseases all affect sperm production, so should be avoided.

2. Dissect your diet:
It’s well-known that wannabe mums will find it easier to get pregnant if they are a healthy weight and have a nutritious and balanced diet. The same goes for dads. A healthy diet equals healthy sperm.

3. Stay cool:
Ditch the tight undies! For optimum sperm production the testicles should be a couple of degrees cooler than the rest of the body

4. Don’t procrastinate:
There’s never a 100 per cent guaranteed ‘right time’ to have a baby and it is now known that paternal age can affect fertility in much the same way as material age.

5. Get lots of baby-making practice:
But ensure your partner is really in the mood – because those proprietary lubricants are toxic to sperm
