As the first House Rules elimination rapidly approaches, things have quickly turned sour between the teams.
Queensland couple Shayn and Carly enraged their fellow teams when they awarding the early room reveal to a team based purely on strategy.
“It’s playing dirty” Courtney said.
Pete added: “And then they’ll find themselves at last renovation with no one wanting to support them, give them space, help them out. They’ll be very, very alone.”
Shayn and Carly’s plan backfired when they chose Pete and Courtney in an attempt to avoid giving them the five point and $5,000 bonus.
“Giving them an extra five points could potentially put them above us and maybe knock us out,” Shayn said.
Carly added: “I’m thinking strategically now not so much how much I love the rooms.”
And when host Joh Griggs broke the news to the teams, it didn’t go down too well.
“Pete and Courtney…basically, their decision came down to trying to work out which room you, Pete and Courtney, had worked on and choosing the other room,” Joh said.
Shayn and Carly accidentally ended up selecting the very team they didn’t want to win!
“It’s a bit of egg on the face for them,” Pete said.
And the decision has left the other teams, in particular Tim and Mat, furious.
“Going to put an axe through the wall,” Tim threatened.
“Why would you want to go into next week knowing that we’re all going to be against you?”
