She’s the famed Olympian turned TV host known for her interior expertise, but Johanna Griggs reveals there’s a new love in her life who’s taking over.
The 44-year-old revealed to New Idea that she’s completely in love with her new grandson Jax, who was born last March.
‘Todd [Johanna’s husband] and I are completely obsessed with him,’ she gushes.
‘It’s amazing to think of just how much joy a little bubba can bring into all of our lives. Katie and Joe [Johanna’s son] are doing an incredible job as parents and it’s just a really beautiful chapter of our lives.’
As young grandparents, Johanna says she and Todd feel so incredibly lucky.
‘[We] want to be active and be able to do things with our grandkids,’ she says. ‘Hopefully we’ll be lucky enough to have many of them in the future…but even now we spend half the time talking about all the things we’ll be able to do with him as he grows.
‘We absolutely adore the stage he is at now – he loves moving and being outdoors, but we can’t wait till he is crawling and running around. It will be so much fun.’
‘We were just saying the other day to our youngest nephew, who is six, that he will be Jax’s hero and how Jax will mimic everything he does. It will be so much fun ahead,’ Johanna adds.
Meanwhile, the House Rules host has recently sold her home in Collaroy and settled into a new place in the Northern Beaches of Sydney.
‘We are in the process of getting our construction certificate, so it’s early days – but we have spent a lot of time fine-tuning the plans with the architect and getting the prep work sorted. It’s a difficult build, so will take some time to get it excavated and out of the ground, but we are excited about it.’
