Kim Kardashian sued over ‘Vibes’ perfume

Bad news for the beauty mogul.

Kim Kardashian is reportedly facing a trademark infringement lawsuit over her new Kimoji Vibes perfume, released earlier this week, which has already reportedly earned her an estimated $6.8million in just five minutes.

The Blast obtained court documents that reveal the mobile marketing company Vibes Media is claiming the packaging of KKW Fragrance’s latest scent infringed on its trademarked logo, a blue speech bubble with the word ‘vibes’ written in white lower case, which was registered in 2012.

The lawsuit alleges that KKW Fragrance ‘has been marketing, promoting, and is now selling a ‘Vibes’ perfume. The ‘Vibes’ perfume comes in a bottle that is a similar to that of the Registered Vibes Logo.’

The documents also claimed that ‘there is a strong likelihood that consumers will be confused into believing that Defendant’s Vibes perfume is Plaintiff’s product or that it is authorised, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Plaintiff,’ or conversely that the marketing company is somehow affiliated with Kardashian.

Vibes Media’s lawsuit is seeking both unspecified damages and an injunction to keep KKW Fragrance from continuing to sell the fragrance. The company also included an order for KKW Fragrance to turn over all unsold perfumes so they can be destroyed.
