Victoria based mum, Meagan Clarke, 33, lost a whopping 41kg and here she shares her secrets.
"I used to be guilty of excessive overeating with huge portions and bad carbs breakfast lunch and tea," Meagan admitted of her 106kg former self.
"I often ate takeaway and other junk food, including potato chips, sugar filled treats and flavoured drinks. Night time binging was also part of my old eating habits," she added.
Now weighing a svelte 65kg, the mother-of-two changed her diet and embarked on a fitness plan at her local gym Anytime Fitness where she does bootcamp sessions combined with a healthy eating plan.
"My diet now is simple and clean. I started the change by simply cutting out things I knew were bad; fried food, flavoured drinks, basically any snack from a packet. That in itself, I noticed I had stopped putting on more weight, but I didn't have the will power to cut out takeaway so I swapped from a large meal to a small meal," she reveals.
"I made simple changes and once I was comfortable and achieving that I'd create a new step. I learned that food prep was the key to not stray! I've never liked Greek yogurt but would learn new ways to enjoy things, I add a scoop of protein powder so its not sour and add chopped almonds and banana yum!
"Eggs scrambled with no milk topped with avocado and a little feta, chicken breast, steak, salads or greens and learnt to limit my carbs in relation to how I was training to brown or black rice or sweet potato," she adds.
Meghan also admits that joining her local gym has helped her be a better mother and person.
"Joining Anytime Fitness has been so beneficial to me, as my training and food is much more than just body image now! It’s all about mental health! My anxiety and depression has disappeared without medication," she admits.
"My daughter has a mediastinal mass, a tumour that sits between the lungs in the chest cavity and my son has benign hypermobility syndrome which means his joints move beyond their normal range and makes him susceptible and prone to injury.
"I am a single mother, so this is a very challenging time but everything I do inside the gym has created coping skills for hurdles I have outside of the gym. It has taught me the harder something is, the harder you need to work!"
