Legendary talk show host Oprah Winfrey has come out to publicly defend her friend Meghan Markle against the continuous onslaught of internet trolls.
Hours after announcing her partnership with the Duke of Sussex about their upcoming mental health series for Apple, the television mogul appeared on CBS This Morning where talk turned to the negative press surrounding former Suits actress Meghan.

“I think it’s very unfair," began Winfrey, 65.
“I think she’s being portrayed unfairly, and I feel that if people really knew her they would know that she is not only everything we perceive of her in being graceful and dynamic in holding that position, but she just has a wonderful, warm, giving, loving heart."
Gayle King, a co-anchor on CBS This Morning and a friend of the Duchess of Sussex, added: “She’s very kind. She doesn’t seem to buy into [her bad press] though.”

Both Oprah and Gayle confirmed that Meghan does not read any of the negative stories about her, with Winfrey telling the panel: “I think that’s remarkable that despite everything that’s going on she does not read anything.”
