In Love Island UK, contestant Kem sends Amber a series of texts via the phones given to the villa members.
As she makes her way around to each phone placed throughout the villa, Kem sends a thoughtful note that she then reads aloud.
One of Amber's texts reads: 'You're everything I've ever asked for and more. I just can't believe how well we clicked from the moment we laid eyes on each other.'
Identically to Love Island UK, the Australian contestants also watched on adoringly from the villa balcony.
With an adoring song playing in the background, Kem then comes and asks Amber to be his girlfriend.
In another identical twist, Kem then gifts Amber an 'eternity' bracelet that will symbolise their relationship.
In Love Island Australia, Eden gifts Erin an 'E' bracelet.
Twitter were quick to pick up on the similarities.
While the two scenario's start off the same, the two do drift off slightly to become more specific to each couple's experiences - including Eden entering the villa with a 'pumpkin pie', the sweet nickname he has given Erin.
Channel Nine are yet to respond to the backlash.
