Lady Kitty Spencer has appeared in a new photoshoot for Marie Claire Italia, but the necklace in the photograph has caused major controversy among royals fans.
The niece of Princess Diana dons a piece by high-end jeweller Bvlgari, called the 'Happy Leaves.' The extravagant piece of jewellery features marijuana leaves.
Kitty, a Bvlgari ambassador, modelled the necklace in two photos shared to her Instagram account in which the socialite declared she had the 'best time shooting.'
The symbols in the necklace didn't go unnoticed by royal fans.
Di’s niece adorned with marijuana leaf jewellery #fashiongoalz,' one wrote, while another commented: 'That marijuana necklace though!!!'
Earlier in the year, Kitty made headlines thanks to her incredible resemblance to Diana at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding.
Kitty is the daughter the 9th Earl of Spencer and Diana’s brother Charles made her debut modelling for Dolce & Gabbana in 2017.
Despite her similarities to Diana, Kitty has said she has very little memories of her aunt, who died in 1997 when she was just six.
'I was so young [when Diana was alive]. There are only a few memories, but special memories and happy memories, and I’m so lucky to have those,' Kitty told Vanity Fair in 2016.
