Harry and Meghan release statement over claims they issued neighbours with list of demands

Buckingham Palace has responded to claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle compiled a list of demands for their neighbours.

A report by The Sun claims that residents near their Frogmore Cottage home were issued with dos and don'ts if they see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The demands include not to talk to the couple or ask to see their newborn son Archie Harrison, who was born May 6.

The publication reports that residents nearby have also been told to avoid stroking the royal couple's dogs.

However the Palace has rubbished the report, saying the royal duo had no part in guidance offered.

"The Duke and Duchess didn't request this, didn't know about it, and had nothing to do with the content or guidance offered."

Harry and Meghan have recently faced public backlash over their recent $4.4 million taxpayer funded renovations.

The Palace said major work was needed to turn the house - which is in the grounds of Windsor Castle - from five separate cottages into a single home for Harry and Meghan, and their newborn.

Buckingham Palace said Frogmore Cottage was in very poor shape and needed ceilings and floors replacing, extensive rewiring, and the installation of gas and water mains - but there's no mention of a yoga studio.
