'This was planned, this was deliberate, and it was done over an extended period of time,’ former Australia Transport Safety Bureau head Martin Dolan told the programme.
Veteran air crash expert Larry Vance agreed the pilot 'was killing himself' and took the aircraft to the most remote place possible so it would 'disappear'.
'Unfortunately, he was killing everybody else on board, and he did it deliberately,' Larry said.
The programme heard from Boeing 777 pilot Simon Hardy who reconstructed the actual flight plan used by the captain.
He made a remarkable discovery.
Captain Zaharie Amad Shah avoided detection from military radar from either Thailand or Malaysia by flying along the border of each country’s air space and crossing in and out of it.
‘If you were commissioning me to do this operation and try and make a 777 disappear, I would do exactly the same thing,’ Simon said.
‘It’s very accurate flying as far as I’m concerned.’
The pilot also believed the captain dipped his wing to look over his hometown of Penang as he flew past the area – something he believes was the sign of an ‘emotional goodbye’.
