It wasn’t Nathan’s night, as Delta Goodrem picked All Star contestant Sheldon Riley to stay on Team Delta, while Kelly Rowland saved Luke Zanc, eventually pairing him in a duo with his wife Tannah.
Furious fans slammed the singer’s rejection, venting their frustrations on Twitter.
One person wrote: "Okay, Nathan's gone time to switch to another channel."
"Nathan should have stayed. Someone give him a recording contact please!" tweeted another.
"And there goes me watching #TheVoiceAU for the rest of the season. Not saving Nathan was a HUGE mistake," said another annoyed fan.
Trying out for The Voice was a second chance at fame for the former star of children's group Hi-5 who joined the group in 1999, aged 18.
