Taylor Swift will be performing at the Melbourne Cup

The Herald Sun quoted Michael Gudinski - who brokered the deal - as saying Swift is beyond excited for the event. 

“I can’t wait to come to Melbourne, and I can’t wait to come to the Melbourne Cup,” she said “I’ve heard so much about the race.”

Last year’s performer was British singer Sam Smith.
