Steve Jacobs relocated to Vanuatu with his wife and two daughters in early 2017 in what reports claim was a 'last ditch' attempt to save his marriage.
But with divorce proceedings now underway, the former Today Show weatherman and his ex Rosie are settling back into their seperate lives in Sydney.
The 51-year-old was spotted looking 'downcast' on Wednesday while shopping for items to furnish his new home, a humble apartment in Bondi.
Just last week, Rosie took to Instagram to share that she was 'excited' about her new life.
Taking to Instagram, Rose wrote: 'About to take the leap!!! Leaving the Pacific Islands to restart a life in Aus. My beautiful girls by my side. #couldntbehappier'
In another post, Rose revealed that she had bought a home in Bondi Beach.
Rose said, 'HAPPY DANCE! Settlement has gone through five minutes ago on my new apartment in Bronte!!!!!!!! Pop the champagne!!!! Thank you to the most incredible family and friends who have supported me during this massive life changing process! You know who you are xxx'
In March, a source close to the family told Daily Mail: 'They want different things in life now.'
'Steve and Rosie had such a public image of the perfect happy family, but behind the scenes there were struggles that would put a strain on even the best marriage.'
The couple first met on set of the Today Show in 2007.
They married three years later in an intimate ceremony in Bali, Indonesia.
It is unclear when problems in their marriage began, but sources have claimed their relationship was already in trouble by the time they moved to Vanuatu early last year.
In April, it was reported that Steve and Rosie had sold their five-bedroom former marital home in Coogee for more than $4.6million.
