“Beatrice calls me the most misunderstood woman in the world,” Fergie told interviewer Julia Fisher Farbman, going on to reveal that it was her daughter and “family” who helped her through the toughest times.
Speaking about her 1996 divorce from Prince Andrew, Fergie said: “We both agreed we didn’t fight hard enough to keep it [marriage] together.”
Fergie said she hit “rock bottom” after the couple’s very public break up and went on to make “loads of mistakes”.
“I had completely and utterly destroyed myself,” she said.
“I murdered myself.”
But in spite of the darkest of times, the Duchess has revealed how she and Andrew have found the happily ever after they always wanted.
“Now our life together is the greatest ever,” Fergie said.
“It’s so hard to comprehend because we’re not normal. This is our fairytale and we’re telling it our way.
“I’m starting my life at 58.”
