As is royal protocol, Her Majesty was the first to receive news of Baby Sussex's arrival.
However, along with Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles being informed, Diana's siblings, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer were also notified.
This differs from when Kate Middleton and Prince William gave birth to Prince Louis in April 2018, as it was only The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry to be informed of the young prince's arrival.
According to the Daily Mail, Meghan Markle's mother Doria Ragland was with the couple at Frogmore Cottage and was among the first family members to hear the news.
