Prince Harry has the best response to Australian prankster

The Kyle and Jackie O Show's "resident prankster" Intern Pete Deppeler has met Prince Harry several times, but that doesn't mean the Duke knows who he is...

The last time the Duke of Sussex visited Australia, Pete attempted a failed joke by repeatedly yelling "the floor is lava!" at the royal.

Yesterday, as Harry and his new wife Meghan Markle visited the Opera House Pete attempted yet again.

"Bit of royal mingling! Wait til you hear what Prince Harry said to crush Intern Pete's ego," a caption read on the radio show's Instagram page.

A video then showed Harry's very dry-witted response to Pete's "joke".

As Meghan and Harry approached the crowd of fans awaiting their arrival at the Opera House, Intern Pete couldn't contain his excitement.

"Hey Harry! Harry! Harry! I talk to you every year!" he shouted.

But Harry didn't show a hint of recognition and instead politely responded: "Very nice to meet you".

Unfortunately, Pete didn't take the hint and awkwardly reminded the visiting royal that they had actually met "a few times' before."

Harry and Meghan have departed Sydney this morning to travel to Dubbo, New South Wales.
