Australian Paralympian Jessica Smith has welcomed a beautiful baby boy.
Taking to Instagram, the swimmer – who was born without her left forearm – shared details of the birth and revealed her newborn son was named after her father.
‘Reza Raymond Salamati,’ she announced on November 2. ‘Reza means contentment & satisfaction. Raymond is my dad's name.’
She went on to say her son was born at 6.14pm on Nov 1, weighing 4.1 kilos.
‘I tried to be the cool, calm, collected second time mum... so I stayed home most of the day not wanting to arrive at the hospital too early,’ the Paralympian wrote.
‘My only 'birth plan' was to have an epidural!! But of course no birth plan ever goes accordingly!
‘We arrived at the hospital at 5.15pm and my gorgeous prince was delivered naturally at 6.14pm! I am besotted.’
In another post Jessica gushed over her adorable new family member.
‘All the newborn feels... my goodness I am so in love with this little man,’ she wrote to her 48,000 Instagram followers.
‘Thank you all so much for your beautiful messages and comments... I've read them all and am so grateful for all the love - we feel it, so thank you all so much.
‘I'm just snuggling and cuddling my Prince and soaking up all the newborn bliss.’
