‘She’s my girl. She isn’t going anywhere,’ he says, proudly. ‘We have been through this together and this is one of the hardest things. There have been – you know – husbands and wives and boyfriend/ girlfriend who haven’t made it out the other side.
The fact we are here and as strong as ever, I’m very optimistic about us. We will have a long future together.’
As well as getting married, the Queensland couple are already planning to start a family.
But there’s one thing they want to get out of the way first – and no, it’s not the wedding!
‘Once we open a venue and establish a business and our brand and something we are proud of, we will definitely have children,’ Emily explains.
‘It’s about setting up everything!’
Now they’re out the other side of My Kitchen Rules, Alex says that, while the competition was difficult, the couple are stronger thanks to the experience.
‘We are different and similar in a way, and when we are different that’s when we have little fights,’ says Alex
‘But we learned a lot about each other and how to get along with one another through those challenges and restaurant rounds. It’s made us stronger than ever.'
