The Lebanon-born MKR contestant broke up with his girlfriend of seven years before filming began on the show.
In fact, his new single status was one of the reasons Ibby agreed to enter the competition with Romel.
Speaking to New Idea, Ibby reveals he’s not only ready to find love again, but he’s looking for 'The One'!
Q: Are you still single?
A: Yes, I’m still single.
Q: But surely you’ve had lots of attention thanks to MKR?
A: There’s interest, don’t get me wrong, but there hasn’t been anything serious.
I’m not desperately looking, I think it should happen naturally, and when it happens you know.
I don’t wanna rush into something because the last relationship I had was seven years so I really need to make sure, going into my next relationship, that it’s serious.
I don’t want to be a 36 or a 37-year-old bachelor and go through it again.
I haven’t honestly felt like I’ve met the right person yet. I haven’t really been in love before.

Q: Not even with your girlfriend of seven years?
A: Nah, I wasn't feeling that emotional connection, I think.
It was more like, we just got used to each other. The feelings weren't that strong.
When I hear people talk about love, honestly - I don't think I've had it.
Q: When did you break up with your ex?
A: I broke up with her in January last year and I thought MKR would be a good ... kind of get me distracted as well and be a bit silly, a bit crazy.
Q: What’s your type?
A: I look for career oriented-women, and obviously someone who is good looking.
I’d like to find a similar version of me, in a female, that would be ideal. She needs to understand why I’m always at work.
These things can become a problem. Like, “Why do you not wanna spend Saturday night with me?” And I say, “Because I have to work at the cafe on Sunday morning.”
I need to find someone that makes me want to not be at work. I’m in the best headspace I’ve been in, in a very, very long time.
I think being positive and being in a good headspace will bring you what you want because of the rule of attraction.
I’m not desperate, I’m not in any rush, and I’m just staying focused, keeping positive – the right thing will come my way, whether it’s career wise, whether it’s love, whatever it is.

Q: Do you use dating apps?
A: I’m not on them, no. I am a member of Raya but I don’t use it.
It’s there, but I don’t believe in [dating apps]. I’m not saying they don’t work, they might work once you’ve really invested time.
Q: Surely women come in and give you their number or hit on you at the restaurant?
A: Not really. They don’t hit on me, or give me their numbers, it’s not as straight-up as that.
But I see people looking.
