WATCH: Meghan and Harry stand at the back of the balcony at Trooping the Colour
As she is still officially on maternity leave following the birth of her son, Archie Harrison, last month, royal fans were unsure whether Duchess Meghan would be joining her husband, Prince Harry at the event.
However, Meghan and Harry arrived together in a carriage with Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, much to the delight of the crowds who'd gathered in London to catch a glimpse of the royal family up close.
It was once the royals reached Buckingham Palace that the disappointment began.
With fans of Meghan Markle upset when they saw the Duchess had been positioned towards the back of the balcony.
A far cray from Duchess Kate, Prince William and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who made his debut appearance at the celebration, who had a prime position at the front of the balcony when the royals gathered to watch the parades and RAF flypast.
Meghan and Harry's position was also in stark contrast to last year, when they were seen smiling and in full view of the public as Meghan attended the event for the first time.
With questions around whether Harry and Meghan are being shunned by senior royals, the truth could be more simple than that.
Their placement this year could have been deliberate, with many royal experts saying that there is an order for family at these types of gathering.
Queen Elizabeth takes centre stage, with senior royals filling in spaces around her, including future kings like Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.
