In 2019's Meghan Markle: Movies, Marriages and Motherhood, royal expert Ashley Pierson talks about the former actresses previous marriage which ended in divorce.
"They (Meghan and Trevor) were together for seven years, married for two," Pierson explains.
"The problem with the marriage was the distance."
Meghan and Trevor tied the knot on September 10, 2011 in Jamaica.
The wedding was a fun-filled affair with friends and family and celebrations went on for four days.
"As soon as they married she (Meghan) got the gig on Suits and she was in Toronto and he was in LA," Pierson continues.
"The relationship just didn't last."
While Meghan recently welcomed her first child with Prince Harry, Trevor has also since found happiness.
In fact, the now 42-year-old film director remarried nutritionist Tracey Kurland in California last week - a year after Meghan married Harry.
"It couldn't have been more different than the royal wedding," a source told Entertainment Tonight.
" This was not stuffy! It was fun and casual and absolutely beautiful. Everyone was having the best time, especially Trevor and Tracey.
