Just hours after it was confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were leaving the Royal Foundation to focus on their own charities, claims have emerged suggesting Meghan and Kate's differing opinions could be behind the shock split.
"They (Prince Harry and Meghan) are actively trying to create their own team," royal commentator Duncan Larcombe told Fabulous Digital.
"Kate fell into the royal family over a long period of time. Who would Kate be without Prince William? She certainly wouldn't be well-known.
"Meghan without Harry would have been well-known, so she's bound to have more opinions about her PR, how they promote themselves as a couple, what they do with their kids."
Mr Larcombe added that unlike Kate, Meghan is trying to take control of her public image.
"Meghan is no shrinking violet. She's not going to sit back and take Harry's lead on everything. She had a million followers on Instagram before she met Harry. Kate didn't. So there's going to to a difference."
Meanwhile, royal insiders say the recent split could cause further rivalry with speculation Meghan and Harry could be looking to work overseas possibly in the duchess’ homeland of America, and Africa, a continent Harry is passionate about where his Sentebale charity is based.
