Taking to Instagram Live on Thursday night, the MAFS season 4 star stated he "probably still would have tried" to fix his two-month-long relationship.
Interestingly, Jessika's breakup announcement coincided with popular reality TV show Love Island Australia returning, a detail that has not been lost on those following the doomed relationship of Nick and Jess.
Since then, speculation has run riot over whether Jess broke up with Nick due to her reality TV career aspirations, after all, the main criteria for being on Love Island is that you have to be single.

Nick continued: "Look, it was a mutual thing, but I probably still would have tried to hang in there a bit. But the distance... and Jess... it wasn't working."
Despite all the rumours - including Jess dumping Nick for fame and Nick cheating - Nick revealed that the separation was 'mutual'.
"Jess and I just thought it was better to go our separate ways. I don't know, it just fizzled out at the end."
Nick continued: "Am I upset? A bit disappointed, but its early days. I think it was a mutual thing and we'll keep going forward."

As for whether he's back dating, Nick said: "There are plenty more birds out there but there's no rush. I'm just going to live my life and take it easy.'
