In the previews for tonight’s episode of Married at First Sight we see that Sam and Ines are willing to lie and cheat to get what they want – which is each other. But neither are sorry for their behaviour, or going for what they want on national TV.
“I was quite honest and just myself. I don’t have any regrets,” Sam tells New Idea. And Ines agrees. “I was determined! I was convinced I was going to meet the one. I was quite honest and so I don’t have any regrets.”
While happily lying to their spouses, fellow contestants and the experts, both insist they’ve never cheated before.
“I’ve been cheated on quite a few times. But I’ve never cheated on anyone,” Sam claims.
And Ines says that she has been hurt in the past by cheating partners “I had one that I didn’t find out until we broke up. It was very damaging for me, I lost my trust,” she insists.
Despite this, the pair is willing to risk their relationships and reputations by sneaking around behind everyone’s back on TV to see if they can find true love. “I’m not worried about how I will be portrayed,” Ines says. “I’ve just been myself, I don’t have any control over how I will come across.”
However, Sam and Ines may underestimate how transparent their deception is and how that makes them look to fans of the show. “Arrogance is a turn off for me,” Sam declares. “Someone who is nasty to other people, someone who is a negative soul.” Holding a mirror up Sam?
