Karl declined the offer by apparently sending the KIIS FM presenter a rather strange text message.
According to Kyle, 47, when he suggested to Karl, 44, that he should call into the show during Deb and Georgie's segment, the ex-breakfast show host replied by sending a photo of horror film character Freddy Kruger.
Sandilands recounted the exchange live on air Tuesday saying, "I wrote to him, 'We've got the two ladies who do the Today show on, the replacement and your ex-co-host".
"I said, 'We should ring you' and he [Karl] sent me a picture of Freddy Kruger."
Karl however hit back at the claim, telling Daily Mail his friend had misrepresented the exchange.
He insisted he was not referring to Deborah and Georgie with the Freddy Kruger image.
'Kyle and I were talking about a former Russian president, not the Today show cast,' Karl told the publication. 'He has a fertile, funny and disturbing imagination. I don't know how Jackie puts up with him.'
On Dec. 27, Stefanovic appeared to "like" a very telling comment on Instagram from a fan which suggested that it was a mistake by management to sack him.
The comment read, "There's always three sides to a story, his, hers and somewhere in between...but it's none of anyone else's business anyway!
"I can't wait until the ratings drop even lower and they realise it wasn't you that was the problem after all."
Following eagle-eyed fans noticing the liked comment, Karl was quick to come out on social media and state that his Instagram account had been hacked.
He captioned the post, "While I was out fishing my Instagram account has been hacked. I am investigating this with the authorities and will be back soon. Karlos."
