The TERRA DIY project gives you all the supplies needed to create a grass-covered armchair.
The brains behind the chair is Italian design studioNucleo, "a collective of artists and designers directed by Piergiorgio Robino based in Torino, Italy. Active in contemporary art, design and architectural fields."
The kit comes with a cardboard frame which is assembled and filled with soil or clay and topped with grass.
"To actually create the chair, you have to fill the spaces with a stable substance that will keep the frame together when it rains. For that, Nucleo suggests you fill two-thirds of the open space with expanded clay and the rest with regular soil," Business Insider explains.
Next, spread the seeds, water regularly and watch your chair come to life.
An armchair isn’t the only grass-covered option. TERRA is also available in a cushion or sofa for two version.
As for the price, the DIY project isn’t cheap – but they do ship to Australia.
A standard DIY TERRA chair will set you back around €363 (approx. $580 AUS) including shipping.
