For the couple’s traditional religious ceremony, the bride wore a gown by Atelier Boisanger.
The designer shared on social media: ‘Atelier Boisanger created a breathtaking wedding dress made of Silk Zagar and embroidered Chantilly Lace... it required 300 hours of embroideries, of patience and passion’.
The ceremony, which took place at the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate was where Louis’s grandfather Prince Ranier wed Grace Kelly 60 years prior. The couple are reported to laid flowers on the late royals’ graves.
Speaking of his decision to wed in the church, Louis said it was a nod to his grandfather (he never knew his late grandmother).
‘At some point he will be with me during the wedding ceremony at the cathedral,’ Louis said. ‘That’s why we chose it, and Marie supported me in this decision, even though the place is big and there’s a protocol, but that’s the only way for my grandfather to be with us.’
After the cathedral ceremony, the bride changed into a Rosa Clará lace dress with a deep neckline for the party. What a stunning bride!
We’re sure Princess Grace would have loved the big day.
