What is Deal or No Deal Australia about?
Deal or No Deal Australia was the first international version of the game show, originally based on Miljoenenjacht (which translates to Hunt For Millions) from the Netherlands.
Hosted by Andrew O'Keefe for its entire 10-year run from 13 July 2003 to 4 October 2013, Deal or No Deal, unlike other quiz shows, is all about luck and guessing intuition.
The premise of the show involved a contestant selecting one briefcase from a selection of 26, with each one containing a different sum of money, ranging from 0.05c to $200,000. As the game progressed, the contestant would open other briefcases to reveal their amounts, and based on the remaining possible values in the chosen briefcase, the mysterious "Banker" would offer the contestant a sum of money to quit the game. The contestant then had to decide: "Deal or No Deal?"
