According to new reports Channel 9 has axed the NRL edition of The Footy Show after 24 years.
There are reports that long-running host Paul 'Fatty' Vautin has been booted from the show and will likely continue the rest of his contract commentating live football games.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the Logie awarding winning NRL Footy Show will be replaced by a completely new format with Erin Molan at the helm.
The revamped show, yet to be named, will broadcast in a new time of Monday night, then Thursday night and Sunday lunchtime.
Nine said in a statement it is still working on the format of its rugby line-up for 2018.
“Nine will be broadcasting 23 Thursday night NRL games in 2018 and so the NRL Footy Show will have a new look and feel to reflect the games the audience have just enjoyed watching,”
“The exact format of The Footy Show and appearing talent is still to be determined.”
