At 51-years-old Celine Dion has been named as a face of the world's biggest beauty brand L’Oréal Paris and we're rejoicing.
She's a grown-up woman, a single mother of three and a devastating talent. And now she's being recognised as a genuine beauty too.
And Celine is pretty excited about her new gig too.
"I’m at a stage in my life where I’m excited to use my voice to empower others to feel beautiful, confident, and to learn to embrace themselves.”
Celine will kick off her role with a L’Oréal Paris hair colour campaign in which she shows a playful, light-hearted side she rarely shows. And of course, she looks incredible.
Maybe part of her magnetic glow is her true joy at landing this gig at this stage of her life. She's not just thrilled but honoured. Further, she's 100 per cent behind the brand's ethos and beliefs. She's a particular fan of the brand's famous motto, 'Because I'm worth it'.
"'Because I’m Worth It' means so much," says Celine.
"I really see L’Oréal Paris beyond beauty products, beyond colours, beyond care. Because when you do your hair or put your makeup on, you’re feeling your best. You feel confident, whatever your achievement is. You feel feminine and empowered, expressing your inner strength.
"You feel inspired and emotionally supported when realising your dreams. All of this means we are worth it. We need to give ourselves the credit we deserve."
Celine also loves that the brand encourages encourage women to express themselves in whatever way they desire. It's a belief Celine holds dear herself and she's thrilled that through this role she can reach even more women and spread the word.
"I want everyone to feel that they have the right to express themselves, whether it is through fashion and beauty, by using their voice or through something else that’s important to them," she says.
"The world is changing, and L’Oréal Paris is part of that in a positive way since the brand is telling women that there is nothing wrong in realising their dreams and speaking their mind. As a society, I think we need to embrace that even further. I hope that I can elevate this conversation."
We love that she feels this way and we also love that she is of a certain age and is embracing that heartedly. More importantly she has absolutely no desire to turn back the clock.
"I feel so good now that I don’t even want to think about my 20s or 30s, when I was still discovering myself," she says.
"For the last couple of years, I have grown in a very strong and happy way through my passions, my work, friendship, motherhood. I am now embracing myself and feel free to do what I want, where I want, when I want. I am thankful to keep going, I’ve never felt so beautiful, strong, and I feel that the best is yet to come.
"Today is the beginning of the rest of my life and I don’t want to go back in time, I am going forward."
