Throughout, forklift driver John has persistently believed that his daughter was not really gay and that by continuing her relationship she was heading for hell.
And right up until Ange’s wedding night John did not feel happy about his daughter marrying another woman.
“I can’t accept your marriage,” John told Ange over a glass of wine.
But at the end of the night, Ange was still hopeful that her dad would walk her down the aisle.
Yet on her wedding day, John was nowhere to be found in sight and despite constant phone calls Ange could not locate her father.
Distressed, Ange began to ponder the thought of whether she can still go ahead with the wedding.
“I will still get married but I really wanted my dad to be here,” Ange lamented.
And at the last-minute John appears at the door.
He tell her he promised to her mum that he would do everything to keep you happy and that he’s there to accept Ange for who she is.
Delighted, Ange walk down the aisle happy knowing that after years and years, she finally has acceptance from her father.
“I love Ange with all my heart and it makes me happy to see her happy,” says John beaming from ear to ear.
“He’s accepting that Ange is gay and he’s accepting of our marriage and that’s what we came for,” raves Dylan.
