His wife Meghan Markle stood alongside and smiled warmly as the exchange took place.
New Idea spoke to body language expert Louise Mahler about what her body language was giving away.
“The hair is a giveaway,” says Louise. “The uncertainty shows in her ‘tell’ with the left hand to the hair,” she adds.
That said, Louise thinks that Meghan doesn’t mind the exchange too much.
“The issue is her uncertainty at what to do when Harry is being adored.
"That was supposed to be her role!” she adds.
Meghan is currently four months pregnant with their first child. The couple are currently on a Royal Tour Down Under and on Tuesday they headed to Fiji.
The royal couple had spent the day prior at Fraser Island, where they greeted locals during a walkabout at Kingfisher Bay jetty.
A smiling Meghan waved to photographers as she boarded a Qantas flight with her husband – the Duke of Sussex.
She looked casual in a white shirt and black skinny jeans – possibly making sure she was not chilly in the air conditioning on board the flight.
