'We all want to live in beautiful, inspired spaces and our aim at Stylkea is to give people an easy way to customise their favourite IKEA pieces to get a luxury look for less,' Kylie explains.
As for how she came up with the idea, Hughes said, 'I couldn't afford the price tag on designer furniture so I kept going back to IKEA for inspiration. But, while I love IKEA, I didn't want our home looking like a clone of their catalogue,' Kylie said.
'With the high price of housing and cost of living being what it is, people are focused on making their money go further. They also want to live more sustainably by upscaling or redesigning what they already have. I like the idea that Stylekea is part of the movement,' she added.
Kylie is now designing a new range of fretwork for IKEA's Besta series.
The new range will be available in November.
