Popular YouTube star, Austin Jones was arrested on Monday night on child pornography charges, E! News confirms.
The 24-year-old is set to appear in court for a detention hearing on Wednesday (US time).
Chicago Sun-Times reports that the YouTuber will remain in federal custody until his court date as prosecutors have labelled him a "risk to the community and there's a danger he'll flee."
If found guilty, Jones will face a minimum of 15 years behind bars.
Court documents obtained by E! News allege that the star was communicating with two underage female victims in August 2016 and May 2017 via Facebook.
He reportedly asked one underage girl to "prove" she was his "biggest fan" by sending him "sexually explicit videos".
Jones was found at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago by Customs and Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations and taken into police custody.
During a recorded interview, Jones confessed to the crime.
This isn't the first time that the star has come under fire for his behaviour with minors.
Back in 2015, Jones issued an apology via Facebook for pretending to be younger so that underage girls would send him "twerking" videos.
"I'm embarrassed. I'd have conversations online with girls that would involve me asking them to create a video of themselves twerking," Jones shared in the apology post.
"Sometimes I'd make videos of myself doing some twerk moves in return. Here's the truth: I NEVER asked them to do anything more than send a twerking video. Nothing EVER went beyond that."
He added: "I've been in therapy, seeking help to discover why I communicated with my fans in a way that I have come to fully realize was not appropriate... To anyone that I have made feel uncomfortable or awkward, I am deeply sorry for the hurt and shame I may have caused you."
