The father of a boy struck down by meningococcal disease has told of his fears his son might die.
Josh Roberts and Katelyn Galea made a mad dash to Brisbane's Ipswich Hospital after their baby son Archie developed a rash and his lips turned grey.
As their son was placed on life support his parents feared the worst.
'Meningococcal. You hit my son yesterday like a wrecking ball but he came straight back at you like a d11 bulldozer,' wrote Josh.
'You have met your match. Arch is going to beat you and he is going to come out on the other side with a big smile on his face.'
He urged his five-month-old son to keep fighting: 'You are a strong little man Arch just keep fighting.'
