When the 41-year-old tattoo artist realised he did not have long to live, he asked his wife to remove and keep his inked skin after his death.
Cheryl has now decided to have her husband skinned so she can hang his tattoos on the wall.
'I don’t care what it takes. I’m going to get this done for him,' Cheryl told the Globe and Mail.
'You can hang a picture on a wall. A tattoo is something that has been done for hundreds of years. It's just preserving it.'
A business which specialises in preserving tattoos - named Save My Ink Forever - will spend three months removing the ink art from Chris' body.
The procedure will reportedly be the largest tattoo preservation to ever take place in North America and costs around $80,000.
