A major feud has broken out between Hollywood heavyweights Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Vin Diesel, who have been wrapping up filming of Fast 8 together.
'Tension has been building up for months,' a source close to the production told PEOPLE, with The Rock making it public earlier this week with an Instagram rant complaining about ‘some’ of his male co-stars.
Depending on which of the actors' camps you believe, either one of the stars may have ignited the bitterness. Onset sources appear to confirm that both men have been engaging in diva behaviour during filming.
'Vin has been having problems with The Rock because The Rock keeps showing up late for production,' one source explains. 'Sometimes he doesn't show up at all and he's delaying the production.'
Others say it was Vin who was disrupting production, and that his poor form went back as far as the filming of Fast 7.
'Vin spent a whole day in his trailer one day,' a source told The Hollywood Reporter. 'The next day, they waited four hours for him. He called a meeting [May 28] of studio execs to his trailer for two-and-a-half hours to say, "What the f--- am I doing here?"'
Another source told Page Six that Vin 'was constantly late [when we worked together]', adding that Vin 'acted like a diva and has held up production before'. He concluded, 'It's not surprising that he's the one The Rock is calling out.'
While praising the sequel, its 'hard working' crew, Universal Studios and his 'amazing' female costars, The Rock earlier this week wrote, 'My male costars, however, are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't. The ones that don't are too chicken s--- to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.' He added, 'When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I'm not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you're right.'
