However, reports have come out that Bickmore is less than impressed with Wilkinson joining Channel Ten news program, The Project.
A source tells The Daily Telegraph: '[She is] pissed off at Wilkinson being shipped in to sit along side her.'
The publication also claimed Bickmore was unhappy with Wilkinson's pay-packet, with it being an estimated four times more than her own.
On Monday night, Wilkinson abruptly left The Today Show and defected to Channel Ten, taking up a role on The Project in 2018.
The Project's current hosts, Waleed Aly and Carrie Bickmore, wasted no time in congratulating their soon-to-be co-star on air the following day, with Carrie praising Lisa as 'smart, funny and down-to-earth.'
The comments came just hours after she took to Instagram to share a photo of herself, Waleed and Lisa, captioning: 'Can't wait to see your beaming face on @theprojecttv soon.'
Fans were quick to wonder whether Lisa would be replacing a current host, but a spokesperson for Channel Ten clarified this was not the case.
'Lisa will join the hosting team of The Project. Her role at Ten will include hosting The Sunday Project,' he said. 'She is not replacing Carrie, Waleed or Pete. To suggest this would be total nonsense.'
