Here’s what we can gather so far:
- Kensington Palace posted in a public statement on October 2018 that the royal baby is due in spring, "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,"
Judging from the birth of Prince Louis (the third child of Kate Middleton and Prince William), which came 27 weeks after the announcement, we think Meghan and Harry’s baby will arrive in April. However, March has also been thrown around, and there is only one week left of the month, so the world is eagerly awaiting…
Estimated baby due dates can also be delayed (which was the case for Prince George and Princess Charlotte). As Royal reporter Emily Andrews comments, "Babies can come whenever they want."
A recent article on ABC news states “Prince George, the couple's firstborn who is third in line for the throne, was born 33 weeks after the Royal family's announcement. Princess Charlotte was born 34 weeks after the royal notice.”
Bravo.com also noted this interesting tidbit - “Royal watchers are guessing the baby is coming in April, based on a ring Markle was wearing in Australia last year, which had a birthstone of a white diamond for April centered in it.”
- Flying internationally
It is said that after about 37 weeks into their pregnancy, women are not permitted to fly.
The Duchess of Sussex made her last international trip to Morocco in late February. Reporter Omid Scobie commented at the time of Meghan’s baby shower in New York, "The [New York City] trip was planned some months ago and, [with an official trip to] Morroco this weekend, is the last available time Meghan can travel before the Baby Sussex is born,"
- Where Meghan will give birth
All three of Catherine/Kate Middleton’s children were born at the St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, central London so there is speculation Meghan could deliver her baby there in the Lindo Wing also.
According to Vanity Fair however, Meghan may have the baby closer to her new home at the Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
Whether in the next week or early April, we patiently but feverishly await the arrival of the new royal baby!
