It was probably always going to take a lot to get Matty J back as part of the Bachelor franchise, after he was humiliatingly dumped by Bachelorette Georgia Love.
But the upcoming Bachelor has been given a very good reason to sign up for the forthcoming show – an astounding $200,000 fee. That’s got to be particularly eye watering for ex-Bachelor Richie Strahan, who according to widespread reports only went home with $10,000 for his appearance on the show and all the publicity duties he was required to undertake.
‘I can finally announce that yes, I will be the next Bachelor,’ Matty wrote on his social media last week, no doubt counting the dollar signs as he typed.
‘I never could have imagined I’d be given this opportunity.
‘I’m beyond excited to start this incredible adventure and to find the special girl I’ve been waiting for.’
It’s unknown what that special lady will be getting paid for her troubles, but according to Private Sydney, in prior years the women have been paid as little as $90 a day for being either wooed or humiliated on television.
The show does however pay for accommodation and other expenses during filming.
