The insider claimed to Star, 'She's known Danny hasn't been happy, but she thought he'd stick around for the sake of their baby girl.'
Another friend also outrageously claimed, 'Kate can be demanding,' adding, 'She wears the pants and she dictates everything from where they should go out to eat and it's nerve-wracking for a free-spirited guy like Danny.'
However, Star also sensationally adds that the break-up 'didn't take', with the two being spotted at Kate's Aspen ranch and insiders claiming the pair looking 'frosty' in the quaint ski town.
'Things remain tense,' the insider says.
The publication further adds that Danny's increasing jealousy of Kate's fling with Brad Pitt still causes a riff in their relationship.
'He's very jealous,' the source tells Star. 'I mean what man wants to think that his girlfriend hooked up with Brad Pitt?'
Neither Kate or Danny have responded to Star's claims.
