URGENT SAFETY RECALL of this popular car
Mazda Australia has recalled its Mazda 3 model over fears the windscreen wipers could stop working in heavy rain.
The cars affected were built between July 20, 2015 and July 11, 2017.
There is concern the front windscreen wipers may become inoperative during heavy rain.
“Drivers may experience reduced or poor visibility while driving due to inoperative front windscreen wipers, possibly causing an accident,” the competition regulator's recall notice said.
The Mazda 3 BM and BN models are affected.
All customers who bought the models between 2015 and 2017 will be contacted by Mazda.
“Customers will be advised to present their vehicle to their preferred Mazda dealer for the replacement of the front body control module at no charge,” the recall notice read.
If you own one of the affected vehicles, you should contact Mazda customer support on 1800 034 411 or check Mazda's vehicle identification number look-up tool by visiting www.mazda.com.au/recalls.
