“It’s really hard for me living in Australia,” she tells New Idea. “I am really homesick, and I don’t have any family here.”
But, for Tyler, 28, moving was much easier. “Tyler used to live here when he was a kid and his mum still lives in Cairns,” she reveals.
“When we got here, his brother and dad moved over as well, so he has family here. But for me I didn’t have anyone, I didn’t know anyone, and I didn’t have friends.” Olga is heartbroken that her family aren’t nearby and despite having made a few friends, she would love Tyler to spend more time with her, however, he is completely focused on his job.
That is why the couple have decided to put their relationship to the test and swap partners on The Super Switch. “He’s always working on the computer,” she says. “So, I thought maybe this way he’ll miss me enough to realise, ‘I miss her, and I want to hang out with her’.”
However, Olga does admit that she is worried, that going on the show could backfire. “The thing I am most afraid of is that Tyler realises he doesn’t need me,” she says. “It could go the complete opposite of what I was hoping for.” To make matters worse, Tyler would love to start a family, but Olga isn’t so sure.
“I want to get married and spend some time making money and buying a house before I even consider having a baby,” she admits.
But, Olga does think that a baby could be just what Tyler needs to ease up on work a little. “I think he might actually take some time off to actually focus on the baby,” she says. “I think he would be a good dad.”
Will the couple be able to overcome their problems on the show or will Olga leave Tyler and head back to Canada for good?
