The 91-year-old monarch and her 96-year-old husband are reported to not be celebrating their milestone anniversary on November 20.
According to royal insiders, the Queen and Prince Philip are hesitant to celebrate as they don't want to be reminded of the number of close friends that have passed this year.
'Over the past twelve months the Queen has lost two life-long friends, Elizabeth Longman and her cousin Margaret Rhodes, as well as Prince Philip’s cousin Countess Mountbatten,' a friend of the couple’s told the Daily Mail.
Instead it’s believed the couple will have an intimate family dinner with just their children and grandchildren present.
For their 50th wedding anniversary, the royal couple hosted a gala concert at the Royal Festival Hall in London, which was attended by the King and Queen of Denmark and many famous actors.
To mark their 60th wedding anniversary, the Queen and Prince Philip flew to Malta to relive their honeymoon.
