After months of anticipation, the first full trailer for The Handmaid's Tale season 2 has dropped, and along with it, the show's release date.
The Emmy-award winning drama, featuring Elisabeth Moss and Alexis Bledel, will return on April 25 with two new episodes. Further episodes will be released weekly on Wednesday, exclusively on Hulu.
Prior to the eerie trailer's release, Moss revealed season 2 would be even more intense - and amazing - than the first. "There is literally no way that anyone can guess what happens," the actress told EW.
"You can try, but you won’t do it... We have no intention of doing anything else than being even more balls to the wall than we were in Season 1."
Hulu revealed a bit more about what we should expect, saying in the official synopsis: "shaped by Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead. 'Gilead is within you' is a favorite saying of Aunt Lydia. In Season 2, Offred and all our characters will fight against—or succumb to—this dark truth."
