The Block's Scott Cam has faced ongoing backlash since he was accused of making a ‘homophobic remark’ by fans while discussing contestants Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie's living room.
Now, the ‘stylish grandads’ have spoken out against the wave of hate being through at the tv host.
In an interview with Who magazine on Thursday, Mark confessed that the couple were ‘concerned’ about Scotty when the episodes first aired.
Mark revealed that Scotty had caught up with the couple off-screen to clarify his comments.
“Scotty was worried he offended us and assured me it was a misunderstanding,” he told the publication, deeming the criticism of Scotty unfair.
“It bothered me that Scotty was still upset. The media might think we are saying it to protect Scotty. I'm not protecting Scott - he's got his own back,” Mark added.

Scott had a fiery showdown with Mitch and Mark during an episode of the Channel 9 show.
The couple deemed Scott's words about their living room "inappropriate and offensive," after Cam referred to the space as their "party room."
The host said that the judges noted the couple placed their second master bedroom on level two, "considering the party room on top of Mitch and Mark’s house," which left the men unamused.
When Scott compared their work with the other team, who has adjusted their plans "to get away from the noisy people in your place," Mark lashed out.
"I find these comments inappropriate and offensive and I’d rather just leave that alone. I’d rather just leave it alone totally," Mitch said in a piece to camera interview later.
In a previous episode, Mitch claimed Scott had made similar comments before.
"Scott Cam has said to me, ‘This is a party house, for people like … us’," he told producers.
"I don’t know what he means. Is he making a judgmental about gay people? That because of our age, and that we’re gay, that we’re going to be partying? If he’s making a judgment like that, when he doesn’t know who we are, then that’s a homophobic comment," he stated.
