The Block 2018 contestant Jess Eva has opened up about the moment she tried to abandon her baby at home, which led to her post-natal depression diagnosis.
In a post for Nine Honey, the now mum-of-two decided to share an excerpt from a blog post she had written when she was "in the thick of it, undiagnosed and wondering what was wrong".
After sharing the post, written when her now 4-year-old son Freddie was just a baby, a psychologist messaged her and suggested she seek help immediately.
"I once left my son in the cot with the intention of driving myself to the airport and flying to the cheapest country I could buy," she revealed in the emotional blog post.
"Norm stopped me in the living room (I didn't realise he was home) and asked what I was doing with my suitcase. He stopped me and said I needed help."
Jess revealed that when her husband and Block partner-in-crime Norm told her she needed help, she viewed it as a personal attack. "I hated him for trying to bring me down by implying I had a problem," she wrote.
The 33-year-old says she was put on antidepressant which helped her to "choose to live the s--t out of life".
Jess now says she tries to 'live the cr*p out of life...because you have 24 hours a day to live.
