Mum-of-three El’ise has never been healthier, but that wasn’t always the case. Five years ago, El’ise suffered a very traumatic birth with her third child Maverick and was left with crippling anxiety for some time afterwards.
“We were a week overdue and we’d gone into hospital to be induced and it was all relaxed and nice,” Matt, 39, tells New Idea.

“Then a doctor came in and checked her and they were like the baby has stopped breathing; we need to get you into emergency.”
The doctors managed to get the baby out and revive him, but that wasn’t the end for the couple.
When El’ise, 33, got her new baby home, she began to experience anxiety.

“It was nothing to do with postnatal depression or anything like that – but, in my mind, I had two kids and all of a sudden I’ve got three, but I’ve only got two hands. How do I manage that?” she says.
“I’d been a person who had been very mobile and active and then all of a sudden I couldn’t go outside.”
However, El’ise got the help that she needed from close family and friends.
“I really relied on my mothers’ group friends,” she reveals. “And as I said, our parents – Matt’s mum stayed with me for eight weeks, and she’s my rock.”
